Rajendra Kumar, a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience, embarked on an enriching Executive MBA journey at Dayananda Sagar University which was sponsored by his company, Bühler. He shares his experience with WiseOwl Edu.
As he shared his insights, a beautiful journey unfolded about his return to the classroom after a decade and a half in the corporate arena. “So I work for Bühler. My company has sponsored this Executive MBA degree program. This is a wonderful program,” Rajendra Kumar proudly announced his tale of growth and rediscovery. When questioned about his extensive work experience, Rajendra Kumar revealed, “I have over 15 years of experience,” a testament to his wealth of knowledge entering the academic space once more.
Reflecting on his initial reservations about returning to class, he admitted, “Initially I had some kind of doubts, or how things are going to take shape? But when I first entered the campus, and this is after COVID 19, I met so many others also who have 10 years of experience, 12 years of experience, 15 years of experience, so it was a wonderful experience.” Contrary to his expectations of being the sole experienced individual, he found camaraderie with fellow professionals. “I thought it’ll be only me, who has a little bit of grey hair. But no. There were others as well,” he shared with a sigh of relief.
Talking about the unique dynamic of learning at an older age, Rajendra Kumar shared, “What matters is what you take back, the wisdom from the education. And having more than 15 years of experience and coming back to campus is like going back to your younger days, looking at the younger generation, getting motivated and giving assignments. It’s a very incredible experience.”
Addressing the role of faculty, Rajendra Kumar emphasized, “All the faculty, they are very experienced. The best part is that the majority of the faculty, more than 80% of the faculty, comes from corporate, and they have very good experience, more than 30 to 35 years of experience.” He praised the faculty for seamlessly blending their teaching skills with practical experience, making each class engaging.
Speaking about the curriculum, he highlighted its practical relevance. He said, “There is real content and you learn with every assignment. And yeah, it’s a very great experience.” As he stood in his ceremonial cape after 15 years, Rajendra Kumar expressed, “It’s exciting. It’s very exciting. My family wanted to be here, but because of some reasons they couldn’t make it. But yeah looking at this campus, looking at the environment here, I think all the students deserve this and I deserve this.”
When asked to provide advice to a prospective student, Rajendra Kumar offered three compelling reasons to choose Dayananda Sagar University for Executive MBA.
