A Tale of Wisdom and Growth: Riyaz Nune’s Inspiring Executive MBA Story

Meet Riyaz Nune, a dynamic professional Sales Head for MAG India, a prominent German-based organization. His story unfolds at Dayananda Sagar University, where he pursued an Executive MBA degree to broaden his horizons after completing his engineering years ago. Riyaz shares his experience with WiseOwl Edu.

Riyaz shared his decision to join Dayananda Sagar University, highlighting the University’s unique aspects. “Before joining, I evaluated many colleges, but here the uniqueness is that this university has a good curriculum, as well as high-profile faculties with complete industrial background. So that is the reason why I joined Dayananda Sagar University for my Executive MBA degree program. I’m very happy and privileged to complete my MBA here.”

His convocation was not just a personal achievement but a family affair, with his son Toufiq by his side. Professor Kumail Kirmani, seizing the moment, asked Toufiq about his feelings on his father’s graduation. Toufiq expressed his pride, saying, “I’m a very proud son. He has put in a lot of effort, while working full time and studying gets very hard. But he made sure to manage everything together, while making time for family. I’m super proud of him.”

Delving into the practical aspects of his learning, Riyaz explained, “There are so many tools and techniques, statistics on how we need to do things, how we need to do marketing, pitching, and all these things we learned during this course. This will definitely help in improving my sales pitches.”

When asked about his interactions with fellow students, Riyaz highlighted the diverse experiences. “In this journey, I learned a lot of things. It was really great! There are different segments. For example, I have colleagues from the software industry, financial sectors, and many colleagues have different experiences. So we could connect with them, and I made many connections.”

Turning to Toufiq, Professor Kumail Kirmani inquired about his pursuits, and Toufiq shared, “I’m studying first year Bachelors in R V University.” Kumail then asked Toufiq about the management lessons he learned from his father. Toufiq reflected, “Mostly time management. If you’re talking about business management, then I learned a lot about risk management. When I should make the right decisions, when I should take more risks, when I should avoid taking any risks. So that’s something I learned from my dad, yeah.”

As the conversation shifted towards advice for youngsters, Riyaz emphasized the importance of continuous learning. “It is very important to keep learning. You should not stop learning, and the learning curve is very important. So once you complete your graduation, don’t stop learning. Go for your masters; it’s very important. So I would always suggest everyone to pursue your higher studies, and improve your competence. This would be my suggestion to the youngsters out there.”

In the narrative of Riyaz Nune’s journey, education is not a destination but a continuous exploration, how one is never too old to learn new things and how learning and gaining knowledge is a continuous process. Riyaz showcased the power of lifelong learning and the impact it has on both personal and professional growth.
